I think ...Why do we do what ever it is that we do?

I think you can split the question into two smaller questions. 1) How do we choose what to do in life? 2) What motivates a person to keep doing something that they start to do?

1) The question of choice can have a number of answers. It could be as simple as parental pressure or external influences. Or you may get into something because you believe strongly in it.

2) I think that whether a person is motivated to stick to something or not has to do with various concepts like aptitude, self-efficacy (their belief in their ability to do better at something with a reasonable amount of effort), the difficulty of the work/task/mission, the self-worth the task brings, the team or social ground one is associated with, and the expectation of gain, or the probability of winning.

I think that 1) and 2) can both give rise to the feeling of passion - 1) believing strongly in something or 2) being very motivated to do something and get better at it.

Sorry, but that was a most impassionate dissection of passion.oriondownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02667465203782795328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6156610110504837385.post-14947762128046873772009-05-25T08:14:39.370+05:302009-05-25T08:14:39.370+05:30misery is an empty feeling. Happiness is filling. ...misery is an empty feeling. Happiness is filling. Emptiness creates a vacuum that begs to be filled. And most times, expression comes to the rescue. And thus art is born.

So true!!! :)Kruthikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12050545515034391095noreply@blogger.com
